The UK’s Royal Mail has announced that it is extending the deadline for using non-barcoded everyday stamps featuring the Queen’s profile.
The original plan was to scrap these stamps on 31 January 2023, but due to customer dissatisfaction with this plan, the deadline has been pushed back by six months to 31 July 2023.
To avoid having their stamps become worthless, customers can exchange them for barcoded stamps through the Stamp Swap Out scheme. This scheme allows for the free exchange of up to £200 worth of stamps, and a bulk exchange for stamps worth more than this amount.
Christmas stamps and stamps with pictures on them will continue to be valid even after the new deadline.
